A trip to Argentina with my dad, and a bunch of trips through the Rockies, all built around fishing. That's where this whole idea came from.
The days on the water were incredible. It was everything beforethe water that frustrated me. Finding a guide was harder than it should have been, and not because guides are scarce. They're everywhere. There just wasn't a hub where anglers could find them.
Then the logistics. Every guide took payment a different way, and at the end of a long day on the river you had to have cash on you for the tip. The whole consumer side just wasn't a smooth system.
The bigger surprise came from talking with the guides themselves. Guiding takes a lot more than the part they love, which is being on the water with clients. Behind every trip is a small business: scheduling, payments, paperwork, a phone that never stops. Nobody had built them one place to run it all.

The name
Guíameans guide in Spanish. It's a nod to the rivers of Patagonia and the guides down there who showed my dad and me what a great day on the water looks like.
